Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has maintained a cautious stance regarding reports that Chelsea turned down a second loan offer from the Whites for winger Mykhailo Mudryk. While acknowledging the quality of the player, the German coach stated he would not comment on transfer speculation involving a player currently under contract at Stamford Bridge.
Mudryk, who joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 for £62 million plus add-ons, remains tied to the club until 2031. Despite his long-term deal, the 25-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea. The club is reportedly keen for the winger to secure regular playing time on loan at another Premier League side.
The player’s recent career has been marked by significant disruption. In November 2024, Mudryk was provisionally suspended following an adverse finding for the banned substance meldonium. The FA subsequently handed him a four-year ban, a decision the player challenged at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. However, at the end of last month, the FA cleared him to return to action immediately after he accepted a breach of anti-doping regulations and agreed to a suspension matching the time already served. He has since featured for Chelsea during their pre-season campaign.
While Leeds United has tested the waters with their approach, reports suggest Chelsea are reluctant to sanction a loan move to Elland Road, despite the player’s interest in the switch. Beyond Leeds, BlueCo-owned Strasbourg also expressed interest, but the winger has reportedly ruled out a move to the Ligue 1 club, as he prefers to remain in England. There have also been mentions of potential interest from Coventry City, managed by Frank Lampard, though no formal approach has materialized.
