Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, widely known as Orry, revealed that he has ended his decade-long friendship with Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan and her mother, Amrita Singh. Speaking on the show ‘Double Date’ hosted by Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, Orry explained that the rift stemmed from a complete lack of support from Sara during his own personal crisis, despite his steadfast presence when she faced public scrutiny.
When asked on the show about unfollowing close acquaintances on social media, Orry named Sara and her mother without hesitation. He shared that he openly addresses the situation, noting that Sara’s mother had scolded him severely, which prompted him to stop following her as well. Orry emphasized that he had maintained a close bond with Sara since childhood and throughout their college years, consistently standing by her during her challenging moments.
Recalling Sara’s legal troubles in September 2020—when she was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) during a drug probe following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput—Orry recounted that they were vacationing in Goa at the time. Despite advice from others to distance himself from the controversy, he chose to stay by her side and support both Sara and her mother through the ordeal.
However, Orry expressed deep hurt over Sara’s absence when he went through his own toughest period, alleging that she did not call once to check on his well-being. He recalled feeling abandoned at a moment when he needed her support the most. Although the two spoke earlier this year, Orry clearly communicated that their old bond could not be repaired, adding that the actress never offered an apology for her indifference.
