AEW is currently enjoying a strong year, building on the success of its recent WrestleDream pay-per-view. The promotion is now focusing its efforts on the upcoming AEW Full Gear 2026 event, which is scheduled to take place on November 14.
Amidst these preparations, AEW star Anthony Bowens made headlines by dressing up as his former tag team partner, Max Caster, for Halloween. The 35-year-old shared a video on social media showcasing himself wearing an outfit modeled after the “Best Wrestler Alive” persona. Although Caster has departed from the Tony Khan-led promotion, he and Bowens remain close friends in their personal lives. Caster and Bowens were the main in-ring performers.
The two were previously part of the now-defunct group The Acclaimed, which also featured WWE legend Billy Gunn. Together, the trio found significant success, capturing both the World Tag Team Championship and the World Trios Championship. While Bowens and Gunn continue to perform for AEW, Caster has moved on, though his departure has not diminished the bond between the former partners. Meanwhile, the WWE legend wrestled occasionally or managed the team.
Caster’s recent career path has been turbulent. Following his exit from AEW, he had a brief stint with TNA, which ended after just one match due to a controversial rap during his entrance at Slammiversary 2026. The 37-year-old subsequently announced he would be stepping away from professional wrestling for an extended period to focus on his personal well-being and attend therapy. Despite his current hiatus and the uncertainty surrounding his future, Caster remains widely recognized for his high-level talent, leaving the possibility of a return to the independent circuit or even AEW on the table. The 37-year-old recently revealed that he will take a break from wrestling for a long time and will go to therapy.
