Former South Indian and Bollywood actress Asin, who achieved major stardom starring opposite Aamir Khan in the 2008 blockbuster Ghajini, has largely stepped away from the spotlight since her marriage. After moving on from hit films such as Ready, Housefull 2, Bol Bachchan, and Khiladi 786, she married Micromax Informatics co-founder Rahul Sharma in a private ceremony in January 2016. The couple welcomed their daughter, Arin Rayn Sharma, in October 2017.
In a recent conversation with MyGov India, Rahul Sharma provided a rare glimpse into their family life, highlighting their seven-year-old daughter’s impressive intellectual growth. According to Rahul, Arin is exceptionally gifted and curious, currently capable of speaking and understanding approximately twelve different languages, including complex ones like Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese. Reflecting on her talent with humor, Rahul remarked that he and Asin are limited to English and Hindi, joking that he only knows two languages himself.
The couple attributes their daughter’s cognitive development to a highly curated home environment that excludes digital distractions. Rahul confirmed that they do not permit the use of television or mobile phones in their household. Instead of digital devices, the home is filled with books that surpass the academic materials found at Arin’s school. While she is currently in second grade, the house is stocked with curriculum books for eighth and ninth-grade students. Rahul noted that he occasionally jokes with Asin about having her sit for tenth-grade board exams early, a success he credits entirely to Asin’s dedication.
Beyond their parenting approach, Rahul spoke openly about his life with the actress, describing his decision to marry Asin as the most significant of his life. He praised her for being his primary source of strength, noting that she has consistently offered him courage and unwavering faith during challenging times, making his life journey feel more manageable.
