Aston Villa are nearing an agreement to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson in a transfer package valued at up to £65 million. The clubs have reached a broad consensus on the terms, which include an initial payment of £47.5 million supplemented by £17.5 million in potential add-ons. The 25-year-old Senegal international, who has recorded eight goals in 37 caps and featured in the recent World Cup, is expected to reunite with manager Unai Emery, having previously played under him at Villarreal.

Should Jackson finalize personal terms and complete his move to Villa Park, the transfer is expected to facilitate the departure of England striker Ollie Watkins to the Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. Jackson’s arrival would continue a busy summer of recruitment for Villa, following the signings of Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, Zion Suzuki, and Matteo Ruggeri.
