Following the latest episode of RAW, WWE recorded this week’s SmackDown session to accommodate the roster’s travel schedule for the upcoming Crown Jewel Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia. The broadcast opened with a tense physical confrontation involving two former world champions, Gunther and Finn Balor.
The rivalry intensified after last week’s Halloween edition of SmackDown, which saw the Ring General launch an assault on Danhausen. During that incident, the returning ‘Demon’ version of Finn Balor intervened to save Danhausen, successfully forcing Gunther to retreat when the latter could not overcome his opponent’s supernatural persona.
During the most recent tapings, Gunther took to the ring to address his previous encounter with the Demon. His segment was cut short by the arrival of Finn Balor, leading to an immediate brawl between the two stars. By the conclusion of the altercation, Balor once again held the upper hand. While speculation continues regarding a potential match between them at this Saturday’s Crown Jewel PLE, WWE officials have not yet officially confirmed a contest.
