Organizers have officially unveiled the technical and administrative framework for the inaugural Al Majed Classic 2026, which is scheduled to run from November 27 to 29. The event promises a competitive stage for bodybuilders with a substantial total prize purse of Dhs400,000 up for grabs. These details were presented during a press conference at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira in Dubai, attended by key figures including Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, and Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Majed, Chairman of the Championship’s Higher Organizing Committee.
During the event, Sheikh Abdullah underscored the importance of such initiatives for the local sporting ecosystem. Addressing the organizers, he remarked, “You have contributed greatly to UAE sport and to bodybuilding athletes, and you are the backbone of UAE bodybuilding.” He expressed his confidence in the tournament’s potential to establish itself as a distinguished fixture on the international bodybuilding calendar, while also commending the collaborative efforts of the leadership teams behind both the Binous Classic and the Al Majed Classic.
Registration is currently open for participants, with the organizing committee emphasizing a goal to attract a wide range of talent, from seasoned competitors to emerging stars. Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Majed noted that the vision for the event extends beyond this initial edition, with ambitions to foster future champions and scale the event in size, attendance, and competitive quality in subsequent years. He highlighted the vital support received from the Dubai Sports Council and the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation in bringing the championship to fruition. With improvements in the level of competition, attendance, and number of participants, al Majed added that the organizing committee aims to build on this year’s edition and deliver an even bigger event next year.
The federation’s involvement is set to provide structural support to ensure the event’s success. Mohammed Abdulrahim Al Marri stated that the organization remains dedicated to discovering new talent, providing a platform for athletes to demonstrate their potential as they embark on their journeys toward major professional championships. Mohammed Shaheen Al Hosani, who chairs the federation’s technical committee, added that this tournament will play a critical role in scouting national talent to bolster the UAE national teams. This, he said, will contribute to expanding opportunities to discover new talent and develop athletes.
Technical integrity remains a focal point for the organizers. Faisal Al Zaabi confirmed that a 16-member judging panel has been assembled to oversee the competitions. The panel will comprise 11 judges from the UAE, three from GCC nations, and two representatives from the International Federation. Under the guidance of Championship Director Captain Younes Moussa, the event aims to serve as a high-caliber showcase that supports the broader growth of bodybuilding in the region.
In recognition of the administrative efforts behind the tournament, Sheikh Abdullah also extended his gratitude to Ali Bin Haider, Vice Chairman of the Federation, along with Board of Directors members including Mohammed Abdulrahim Al Marri, Faisal Al Zaabi, Mohammed Shaheen Al Hosani, Ahmed Johar, and Secretary Abdul Majeed Yazbek. The inaugural championship is expected to feature competitions across various weight classes and divisions, solidifying its place as a key development platform for the sport.
