Bollywood star Tiger Shroff is still grappling with the shock of a targeted shooting incident that took place in Mumbai on October 18. During an official statement provided to the Mumbai Police Crime Branch at his residence, the actor expressed deep confusion and concern, questioning why he was targeted despite having no known personal or professional animosity toward anyone. The incident has left him feeling both frustrated and insecure.
The attack occurred on the evening of October 18 as the actor was returning from a football game in the Juhu area. Miscreants fired five to six rounds at Tiger Shroff’s BMW. While the actor remained unharmed, the vehicle’s driver and a vlogger present at the scene sustained injuries. In the immediate aftermath, a startled Shroff personally drove his injured driver to the hospital. At the time of the shooting, Shroff was seated in the front passenger seat when two assailants initiated the attack before fleeing on a motorcycle to join a third accomplice.
Police investigations have uncovered critical details regarding the weapon malfunction during the attack, noting that one Turkish pistol jammed, causing two live cartridges to drop, while the second assailant utilized a locally made ‘katta’ to open fire. Authorities have linked the attack to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has reportedly claimed responsibility. Forensic teams are currently analyzing two recovered firearms and ten live cartridges seized during a Friday operation in Surat.
The investigation has led to the arrest of 11 individuals so far. The most recent arrest occurred last Saturday in Indore, where 22-year-old Pranjal Thakran from Sonipat, Haryana, was taken into custody on suspicion of providing logistical and financial support. Investigators revealed that the attackers initially planned to flee to Nepal by bus from Surat; however, after missing their transport, they attempted to escape by train. Mumbai Crime Branch officials tracked their movements via CCTV footage from Surat bus stands and railway stations, eventually apprehending them in Kota, Rajasthan.
