Garrett Mitchell, the social media influencer known to millions as Cleetus McFarland, has signed a deal to compete in the full-time ARCA Menards Series for the 2027 season. Driving the No. 33 Chevrolet, Mitchell will spearhead the return of Richard Childress Racing (RCR) to the series and will work closely with crew chief Robert Strmiska to navigate the developmental circuit.

Reflecting on the move, Mitchell stated that his time behind the wheel with the RCR team ignited a desire for more consistent competition. He noted that the full-schedule opportunity allows him to pursue his goal of becoming a premier race car driver. With the backing of a legendary organization, he expressed confidence in his ability to absorb the technical nuances of professional stock car racing throughout the upcoming championship run. And we’re looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish over the course of a full season, he’s earned this opportunity.

The ARCA series, which was acquired by NASCAR in 2018, serves as a crucial incubator for drivers aiming to advance to the sport’s highest levels. Mitchell has been steadily building his racing portfolio, having made four ARCA starts in 2025 and three appearances in the Truck Series. His 2025 debut at Daytona was memorable; he famously declared himself the “best racer there ever was” shortly after a crash ended his race just 17 laps in. He crashed 17 laps into that one – and made headlines for saying he felt like “the best racer there ever was” for some of his driving moves. I’m ready to get after it every week.”.

RCR president Mike Verlander praised Mitchell’s commitment, noting that his work ethic and genuine passion for the sport have made a significant impression on the organization. Verlander emphasized that Mitchell is an ideal match for the team, and the entire crew is eager to evaluate his growth and potential as he completes his first full-season effort. In addition to his ARCA experience, Mitchell also recorded two starts in NASCAR’s second-tier developmental series this season and secured one top-five finish in his four ARCA races to date.
