The Kerala Overseas Cricketers (KOC) are heading to Bengaluru on October 23, 2026, to compete in the 12th annual Friendship Cup. The event is scheduled to take place on October 24 at the Kini Cricket Ground in Bidadi, where the KOC squad will face off against the Kerala Veterans Cricketers (KVC). The competition will feature a pair of matches, providing a platform for former state-level players to renew old rivalries and rekindle their shared passion for the sport.
Established in 2013, the KOC initiative was created to unite former Kerala cricketers under one organization. Since its inception, the Friendship Cup has served as a consistent tradition supported by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), offering a dedicated space for past teammates and opponents to reconnect. This year, the KOC team will be led by captain Biju Thomas, supported by vice-captain Balaji Narayanan. The concept of KOC became a reality in 2013 with the objective of bringing former Kerala cricketers together under one umbrella.
Organizers have emphasized that the 2026 tournament aims to capture the same spirit of nostalgia, camaraderie, and sporting excellence that has defined the event over the past decade. The tour is made possible through the backing of several corporate partners, including Kappal Logistics, Grand, Honest Steel FZCO, and Zeens Business Center, whose contributions have been essential in coordinating the upcoming matches.
