The player’s situation has sparked a heated reaction from former Warriors guard Nick Young. Taking to social media, Young unleashed an unfiltered tirade, questioning the team’s decision-making regarding its roster management. Young specifically criticized the organization for signing the big man to a two-year, $40 million contract extension during the offseason.
According to the terms of the agreement, the $40 million deal signed by Porzingis includes only a $6 million guarantee. Despite the limited financial commitment from the franchise, Young expressed strong personal disapproval regarding the move and the overall handling of the situation.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has frequently faced questions regarding his player’s health status. Kerr has made it clear that he prefers the team’s focus to remain on basketball, noting that the constant inquiries have become a distraction. He is eager to move past the topic and shift the narrative toward team preparation.
The return of Porzingis to the team facility marks a step forward for the organization, as there had been no updates from within the franchise throughout the entire offseason. For now, the Warriors are integrating him back into their environment as they look ahead to the upcoming campaign.
