India and the West Indies saw their five-match Twenty20 International series end in a 2-2 draw after the final decider was abandoned due to persistent rain. The match in Bengaluru was heavily disrupted, with play beginning an hour and 45 minutes late and the contest reduced to a nine-over-a-side format.

More than 20,000 spectators at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, witnessing the venue’s first international game since a Test match in October 2024, were treated to a brief display of explosive batting. After West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and chose to bowl, India reached 118-5 in 7.4 overs before the weather forced the umpires to call off the game, preventing even a five-over shootout. The stadium was hosting its first international fixture since the October 2024 Test match between India and New Zealand and more than 20,000 expectant fans braved the inclement weather.

The brief window of play allowed Indian batters, including Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Naman Dhir, to dominate. Dhir remained unbeaten on 24 from just six deliveries as India struck eight fours and seven sixes. A notable highlight included Ishan Kishan hitting a delivery from Romario Shepherd over long leg for six, which marked the 100th six of the competitive series.

Despite the high intensity shown during the 48 minutes of action, the return of heavy rain ensured no winner could be determined, leaving the series locked at two wins apiece. But then, the skies opened up again, emphatically washing away any prospect of a decisive outcome.
