A new milestone is being set in the Bangladeshi film industry with the certification of the country’s first movie made entirely with artificial intelligence. Titled ‘Gap’, the film has received clearance from the Bangladesh Film Certification Board without any scenes being cut or censored. Board members reportedly expressed their appreciation for the production after reviewing the final cut, signaling a major endorsement of the country’s first foray into full-AI filmmaking.

Directed by Mabrur Rashid Bannah, the project falls under the short film category. The director emphasized that ‘Gap’ represents more than just a typical movie; it is a daring and distinct initiative in the history of Bengali cinema. While the concept of relying entirely on AI to construct a feature appeared impossible to many initially, the creative team persisted. By utilizing various international-standard AI tools through a long, dedicated effort, they successfully crafted every scene of the film.

The production features contributions from a diverse group of talents, including AI visual artist Ark Shihab, Mabrur Rashid Bannah, Rizvi Riju, Sinthia Yasmin Nupur, Mishti Ghosh, Momena Chowdhury, Saiful Islam Rafi, and Jahangir Alam. According to the production team, the core elements of the movie—including the scriptwriting, character design, animation, background score, and visual effects—were primarily developed using artificial intelligence. This achievement, the director noted, proves that international-quality cinema can be produced even with limited budgets and personnel.

Produced by Akbar Haider Munna, the film is scheduled for release on October 31. Audiences will be able to watch ‘Gap’ via the Club Eleven Entertainment official YouTube channel.
