Irish artist and DJ Jazzy is reaching a significant career milestone with the release of her debut studio album, Peace and Patience. The 30-year-old musician, born Yasmine Byrne, has spent more than five years building a prominent presence in the music industry, culminating in a total of over one billion streams across her various platforms. But for Jazzy it’s one that’s followed some huge strides, releasing your first album is a big step for any artist.
Known for hit tracks such as No Bad Vibes and Someday, the Dublin-native has maintained a monthly listenership exceeding 10 million fans. Her journey to a full-length record follows extensive experience releasing dozens of singles and collaborating with notable artists including Calvin Harris, Sonny Fodera, Rossi, and KILIMANJARO. Despite her rapid success, she maintains that her focus was never on achieving viral fame, but rather on developing her craft through smaller, intentional projects. I wasn’t thinking about going viral.
Reflecting on the timing of her debut, Byrne told Newsbeat that her past work provided the essential experience needed to feel that this was the right moment for a longer project. Writing a cohesive album had long been an aspiration, and she expressed that she is now ready to share the finished work with her audience.
The celebration of this release aligns with a major performance milestone for the artist. On Saturday, she is scheduled to perform her largest gig to date, treating a hometown crowd in Dublin to live renditions of her most successful records.
