Cricket West Indies (CWI) has unveiled its list of contracted players for the upcoming 2026-27 season, headlined by maiden international retainer deals for Matthew Forde, Amir Jangoo, and Mandy Mangru. John Campbell has also made a notable return to the national setup, securing a contract after a seven-year absence. The governing body announced that these agreements are set to run from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027.
The new roster includes 15 senior men’s and 15 senior women’s retainers, complemented by three men’s development contracts. CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe noted that development deals are designed to integrate players into the international environment, providing the necessary support and guidance to foster their professional growth. He emphasized that these athletes are actively in contention for national selection as they vie for consistent spots on the team.
John Campbell’s inclusion follows a standout 2025-26 campaign, highlighted by an unbeaten 115 against India in Delhi—his first Test century—and a rapid 68-ball 101 in an ODI fixture in Guwahati last September. Meanwhile, Matthew Forde has established himself as a potent white-ball threat, leading the squad with 10 Powerplay wickets in T20Is and six in ODIs over the previous year. Amir Jangoo is similarly rewarded following his record-breaking 233-run performance against Sri Lanka in Antigua, a match that saw him and captain Roston Chase establish a new world-best sixth-wicket partnership of 401 runs.
In the women’s category, Mandy Mangru secures her first retainer following her contributions to the West Indies squad that reached the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup semi-finals. While these individuals celebrate their first contracts, veteran players Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves, and Jomel Warrican move into the second year of their respective two-year deals, joined by Deandra Dottin and Chinelle Henry in the women’s bracket.
The development category sees Jewel Andrew, Ackeem Auguste, and Vitel Lawes joining the ranks. While all three have previously appeared for the West Indies, this marks a professional milestone for Auguste and Lawes as first-time contract holders. CWI reiterated that while these contracts provide financial stability and structured support, players not named on the central list remain fully eligible for selection across all formats and squads.
