Former WWE star Barbie Blank, widely recognized as Kelly Kelly, recently shared a series of surprising stories from her tenure with the Stamford-based promotion, where she competed from 2006 to 2012. Appearing on Layla El’s new podcast, LayTalk, the 39-year-old revisited her professional beginnings alongside teammates Layla and Brooke Adams.
The trio famously rose to prominence on the ECW brand in 2007 through the Extreme Expose, a segment defined by their recurring dance routines. Reflecting on their shared experiences, Kelly Kelly recounted a bizarre incident involving Brooke Adams, who managed to smuggle a pet snake past airport security. Adams later informed the others that the reptile would be joining them in their hotel room, forcing the stars to share a bed to avoid the animal. Layla confirmed the accuracy of this anecdote during their conversation. The former Divas Champion revealed that they had to sleep in the same room and that they ended up sharing the bed.
Beyond the traveling antics, Kelly Kelly discussed her initial anxiety regarding her lack of professional dance training. She revealed that just one hour before her debut performance with the Extreme Expose, she received an unexpected tutorial from Vince McMahon. Recalling the surreal moment, she noted that the then-boss took off his jacket and personally demonstrated several dance moves to help her prepare for the live crowd.
Kelly Kelly expressed her astonishment at the time, noting the contrast between the intimidating figure she had grown up watching on television and the person assisting her with choreography. The candid exchange on LayTalk offered fans a rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes dynamics of one of WWE’s most iconic segments from the late 2000s, highlighting both the humorous logistical challenges of touring and the unique mentorship opportunities that defined her early career.
