Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has reportedly signaled to his inner circle that he will not entertain a sale of striker Victor Osimhen, despite growing interest from Arsenal. The 27-year-old Nigerian international has been a key figure at RAMS Park since his arrival in the summer of 2024, initially joining on loan from SSC Napoli before a permanent move.
Osimhen has proven to be a prolific asset for the Turkish club, netting 61 goals in 75 appearances across all competitions. Following an impressive 37-goal debut campaign in 2024-25, he added 22 goals last season, helping Okan Buruk’s side secure the Super Lig title and reach the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, where they were eventually eliminated by Liverpool with a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.
Although Osimhen is under contract at Galatasaray until 2029, his form has drawn attention from the Gunners. Reports from The Telegraph indicate that Arsenal has held discussions with the club regarding a potential transfer. Despite this, Ozbek remains firm in his stance, having secured the striker last summer in a deal worth a reported €75 million. The club has previously demonstrated its resolve by rejecting a €130 million offer for the forward from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal earlier this summer.
While the transfer speculation continues, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is currently focused on the upcoming FA Community Shield match against Manchester City in Cardiff this Sunday, August 16. The Gunners, who recently celebrated their first Premier League title in 22 years, are looking to add to their trophy cabinet. Arsenal currently holds 17 Community Shield titles, ranking them as the second-most successful club in the competition’s history behind Manchester United.
Osimhen, 27, has been a prolific scorer for Cimbom, striking 61 times in 75 games across competitions.
Despite being contracted to Galatasaray till 2029, Osimhen has attracted interest from the Gunners.
