Harleen Deol Joins Barbados Tridents for Remainder of 2026 WCPL Season

Update: 12 September 2026, 3:03:21 PM

Indian batter Harleen Deol is set to make her debut in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League after signing with the defending champions, Barbados Tridents, for the remainder of the 2026 season. The 28-year-old has already arrived in Barbados to join the squad as their fifth overseas player. Because she is currently not included in the senior India or India ‘A’ setups, she will remain available for the franchise throughout the duration of the tournament.

Deol’s addition bolsters the growing Indian presence in the competition, where five of the 20 available overseas spots are now filled by Indian cricketers. She joins teammates Kiran Navgire and Pooja Vastrakar at the Tridents, while Shikha Pandey and Yastika Bhatia are currently competing for the Trinbago Knight Riders.

In her international career, Deol has made 28 T20I appearances for India, accumulating 311 runs across 20 innings at a strike rate of 92.01; her most recent appearance for the national side came against Australia in March. Domestically, she has featured for the Gujarat Giants and the UP Warriorz, recording 649 runs in 28 Women’s Premier League matches with a strike rate of 115.68.

Barbados opened their title defense on September 5 with a 21-run loss to the Trinbago Knight Riders. The team is looking to bounce back during their upcoming weekend fixtures, facing the Jamaica Empress on Saturday followed by the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Sunday. The report also notes that deol, 28, isn’t part of either the senior India or India ‘A’ squads and will therefore stay with the franchise through the tournament.
