Cricket West Indies has announced that Shane Deitz has stepped down as the women’s team head coach, ending a three-year stint following the mutual expiration of his contract on October 31, 2026. During his leadership, the squad achieved significant success by reaching the semi-finals in consecutive ICC Women’s T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026. Deitz’s contract with the board came to an end on October 31, 2026 and it was mutually agreed to part ways.

CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe credited Deitz for establishing a higher standard for the team, noting that the decision for a clean handover was mutual. Bascombe praised Deitz’s contributions while confirming that former men’s Test head coach Andre Coley will lead the squad on an interim basis. Coley will work with the current support staff to oversee the upcoming series against Pakistan.

Bascombe highlighted that Coley’s extensive experience within the West Indies cricket structure, including his recent work with the Men’s A-Team, makes him well-suited for this transition. The board expressed appreciation for his immediate commitment to ensuring the team’s preparations for the Pakistan series proceed without any disruption. We appreciate his willingness to take on this assignment and ensure that preparation for Pakistan carries on without interruption.”.
