A group of influential Cuban-American entrepreneurs gathered recently at a private residence overlooking Biscayne Bay to discuss strategies for future commercial operations in Cuba. The event, hosted at the home of a prominent Miami plastic surgeon, served as the fourth meeting of the newly established Cuban-American National Chamber of Commerce (CANCC).
Attendees included members of well-known families, such as the Bacardi and Babun clans, who exchanged observations on Cuba’s current economic climate and political outlook. CANCC president Juan Omar Sixto emphasized the strategic purpose of the gathering, noting that the organization aims to unify the most significant entrepreneurs in Miami-Dade County with the explicit goal of entering the Cuban market immediately once the current regime falls.
The guests at the assembly expressed a firm belief that a transition in the Cuban government is imminent. Sixto maintained that he and his professional colleagues remain fully prepared to initiate business activities as soon as political conditions on the island allow for such a shift.
