Radio 2 presenter Owain Wyn Evans is set to undertake a grueling five-day cycling challenge, traveling nearly 400 miles across the four nations of the UK to raise money for Children in Need. The trek is scheduled to commence on Monday, 9 November, and conclude on Friday, 13 November, coinciding with the broadcast of the annual charity fundraiser.
The journey, which describes as the longest distance ever covered by a Radio 2 personality for the charity, will begin in Glasgow and finish in Cardiff. Evans, a native of Ammanford in Carmarthenshire, stated that while the challenge is daunting and pushes him out of his comfort zone, he is prepared to dedicate his full effort to the cause. He noted that he feels a sense of responsibility following the successful, extraordinary efforts of his colleagues Sara Cox, Paddy McGuinness, and Vernon Kay.

- Professional Guidance: Sports scientist Professor Greg Whyte will provide ongoing support, having previously assisted Sara Cox during her 135-mile run across Northern England.
- Event Hosting: Fellow Welsh broadcaster and The One Show host Alex Jones has been confirmed as part of the 2026 TV presenting team.
- Leadership Recognition: Radio 2 manager Helen Thomas publicly thanked Evans for taking on the “Pudsey backpack baton” to support the thousands of children who will benefit from the campaign.

As the event approaches, he remains focused on the demanding nature of the route, which will see him traverse diverse terrain across the four nations before reaching his final destination in Wales.
