Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, the 31-year-old British entertainer known as Yung Filly, will face a retrial in Australia starting on 15 June 2027. The upcoming court proceedings are expected to span eight days, following a previous trial where a jury was unable to reach a verdict on three outstanding rape charges. On Friday, Perth’s District Court set 15 June as the start date for the retrial which is expected to last eight days.
During the initial trial concluded in July, the performer was acquitted of three separate counts of rape, as well as one count of assault and one of strangulation. However, he was found guilty of two additional assault charges. Sentencing for those specific convictions has been deferred until after the conclusion of the upcoming retrial.
The legal case involves allegations from a woman who was 20 years old at the time of the incident. She claims that she was repeatedly assaulted in the rapper’s Perth hotel room following a 2024 concert. While the defense previously argued that the initial sexual contact between the two was consensual, the complainant alleged that the situation escalated into non-consensual violence.
Barrientos, a Colombia-born performer raised in the United Kingdom, is widely recognized for his online presence, including his work with the Beta Squad YouTube group, appearances on Channel 4’s celebrity edition of Bake Off, and various presenting roles for Three. He was not required to appear in person for the recent scheduling hearing. Under his current bail conditions, he has been permitted to return to the UK while the case remains active in the Western Australian judicial system.
