Sir Anthony Hopkins Set to Release Debut Classical Album Life Is a Dream This Friday

Update: 18 August 2026, 7:15:39 AM

Sir Anthony Hopkins is set to debut his first classical album, titled Life Is a Dream, this Friday through Decca Records. The 12-track collection features compositions written by the 88-year-old actor over the past six decades. The project was recorded this past April at London’s Alexandra Palace, featuring performances by the Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of conductor Gustavo Dudamel.

Reflecting on his lifelong passion, the actor noted earlier this month that music has always been his primary vocation. Hopkins began playing the piano at age four and composed his first waltz in 1960 at the age of 22. He describes the new album as a reflection of his upbringing in Wales, capturing a sense of melancholy and sadness that ultimately gives way to beauty. The release of this musical project coincides with other upcoming entertainment arrivals, including the final season of the series Outer Banks. The report also notes that or vocation really, is music,” the 88-year-old actor told the media earlier this month, my first love.
