Actor Khairul Basar Confirms Past Relationship with Sadia Ayman and Explains Why They Stopped Working Together

Update: 13 August 2026, 12:09:18 PM

Khairul Basar and Sadia Ayman were once a highly popular duo on the small screen, with their frequent on-screen collaborations sparking widespread rumors of a real-life romance. For a long time, the pair remained tight-lipped, consistently dismissing the speculation as mere gossip whenever the topic surfaced in the entertainment industry.

However, during a recent appearance on a podcast, Khairul Basar decided to set the record straight, confirming that he and Sadia Ayman were indeed in a romantic relationship. He clarified that while the rumors were true, the relationship had actually concluded several years ago.

When asked about the reasons behind their breakup, the actor chose not to disclose specific details. He explained his past evasiveness by stating, “I used to dismiss it as a rumor because some good things do not last, and maintaining them becomes difficult. That is why I avoided the topic, but it is true that I was in a relationship with Sadia.”

Following the end of their personal relationship, the duo’s professional dynamic shifted significantly. While they were once a staple of the television circuit, their joint appearances abruptly ceased, leaving fans curious about the sudden change. Basar explained that the decision to stop working together was a mutual one, reached after their relationship ended.

Reflecting on the decision, the actor noted, “I felt it was better for us not to work together. We are avoiding collaboration because it is better for both of us. Even though the audience wants to see us together, I need to be able to work naturally, and she needs to be comfortable as well. To be honest, we have not maintained that space to work together professionally.”

Ultimately, the two concluded that sharing the screen after their personal chapter had closed was not comfortable for either party. Despite continued interest from their fan base, they have opted to stay apart to ensure they can both perform naturally in their respective projects.

The pair gained significant popularity as a regular on-screen couple in the post-pandemic era. Their collaborative portfolio includes well-received television dramas such as “Dub Shatar,” “Babui Pakhir Basha,” “Joltorongo,” “Doi Fuchka,” and “The First Case,” all of which resonated strongly with viewers.
