Popular television actress Tanjin Tisha has been granted bail in a case filed against her for alleged fraud and breach of trust. The legal proceedings center on accusations that she failed to pay for a saree and did not fulfill a promotional agreement with an online fashion retailer.
On Thursday, August 13, Tisha appeared before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Jewel Rana to surrender. The hearing for the case commenced at 11:25 AM, and following the proceedings, the court approved her bail application.
The case was originally filed on November 5, 2025, by Md. Aminul Islam, an executive at the fashion house ‘Apponia Fashion.’ According to the complaint, Tisha acquired a saree valued at approximately 28,800 BDT from the online store. The plaintiff alleged that despite promises to promote the item and settle the payment, the actress subsequently ceased all communication, leading to the legal action.
Following the initial filing, the court directed the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police to investigate the matter. After reviewing the investigative report submitted by the DB, the court issued a summons for Tisha to appear. Previously, on July 12, the court had formally ordered her attendance.
In response to the allegations, Tisha had previously stated on social media that the saree was provided to her as a gift, arguing that there was no obligation for payment. Despite this defense, she complied with the court’s summons by appearing in person on Thursday to seek bail, which the magistrate ultimately granted.
