Colombian pop sensation Karol G has officially released her seventh studio album, “No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto.” The 14-track project, which translates to “I Don’t Regret Feeling So Much,” marks a significant tonal shift for the artist, moving away from the bright, tropical aesthetic of her previous work, “Tropicoqueta,” toward a more introspective and vulnerable sound. While the album retains elements of her signature reggaeton-pop style, it incorporates dream-pop textures and acoustic instrumentation to explore the complex emotions of heartbreak and solitude.
The album features a notable list of collaborators, including guest vocals from Drake, who sings in Spanish, as well as Bruno Mars, Cigarettes After Sex frontman Greg Gonzalez, and Spanish artists Judeline and Rusowsky. The project’s emotional core is established early with the opening track, “Te Llevas To,” a moody EDM-infused elegy centered on the loss of self following the end of a relationship. In an interview with Elle, Karol G revealed that the album was largely shaped by her time spent in isolation after her split from Colombian singer-songwriter Feid late last year, a separation that occurred months before it became public knowledge in January.
Reflecting on her creative process, the singer described a period of solitude in Hawaii last November, where she spent time hiking and contemplating the inherent loneliness of the music industry. “Compared to the rest of the world, you’re very isolated,” she told Elle. This theme of emotional honesty is central to the record. “I cry a lot. I’m super sentimental and I’ve hated myself a lot for that,” she shared in her July cover story. “But at the same time, I’d rather suffer because I lived too much… than to not have had those experiences.”
Fans first caught a glimpse of this new direction in April when Karol G performed at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival as its inaugural Latina headliner. During that set, she debuted the shoegaze ballad “Después de Ti,” a collaboration with Greg Gonzalez that addresses the grief of losing a loved one. Earlier this summer, she also teased the track “Matadora” during her Chicago stadium tour kickoff. Produced by Tainy, the song blends reggaeton with muffled jazz trumpet arrangements.
The production team includes longtime collaborator Ovy On The Drums, who helped channel the shadowy aesthetic of her previous hit “TQG” into the new track “Bebiendo Lágrimas,” a song that rejects traditional notions of love. Additionally, Mexican American producer Edgar Barrera contributed to the synth-heavy, Tejana-style cumbia track “Alguien Que Te Amaba,” which was co-written with legendary songwriter Pete Astudillo. The album also features “Con Quien Andara,” a tribute to Jeanette’s 1976 ballad “Porque Te Vas?,” and “Bby Wow,” a dream-pop reggaeton track inspired by the 2003 dancehall rhythm “Coolie Dance Rhythm” by Cordel “Scatta” Burrell, a sound familiar to many from the 2004 hit “Move Ya Body.”
