Actress Selma Blair was taken into custody at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday night following a reported mid-air altercation on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles. Authorities stated that at least two flight attendants sustained injuries during the incident, with media reports alleging that the 54-year-old performer punched one crew member and bit another.

Following the flight’s arrival, the situation escalated further; Blair allegedly assaulted a nurse and a police officer while she was being transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. A representative for the star of “Legally Blonde” and “Cruel Intentions” issued a statement noting that Blair experienced a medical emergency that triggered the conduct in question. She reportedly received care upon arrival and is currently in stable condition.

A federal judicial source indicated that the FBI has issued a summons regarding the alleged assaults on the aircraft. Blair was arraigned Monday night on two counts of second-degree assault and subsequently released on bail. The court has scheduled her next hearing for January 19, 2027. A spokesperson for Delta emphasized the airline’s zero-tolerance policy toward unlawful behavior, prioritizing the safety of its customers and staff.

This is not the first time the actress has been involved in such an incident. In 2016, she was removed from a plane on a stretcher following a public outburst. In her 2022 memoir, Blair also disclosed instances where she had bitten several celebrities, including Kate Moss, often attributing these episodes to periods when she had been consuming alcohol. And that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret,” she told Vanity Fair after that incident, i mixed alcohol with medication.
