Renowned Dhallywood actor Amin Khan has officially returned to the silver screen following a significant hiatus, starring in the India-Bangladesh joint production titled ‘Gulshaner Chameli.’ Directed by Muhammad Iqbal, the film also marks the debut of popular Kolkata-based actress Madhumita Sarkar in the Bangladeshi film industry.
In a recent interview, Khan opened up about his comeback and reflected on the nostalgic early days of his acting career. Discussing his entry into the industry, he revealed the modest compensation he received for his first project. The actor shared that his initial payment for his debut film was exactly one taka. He noted that he still vividly remembers the moment and has carefully preserved that specific one-taka note in his personal album as a memento of his journey.
Despite the symbolic nature of the payment, Khan emphasized that the support and affection he received from the film’s director and producer, Mohammad Hossain, were far more valuable than the money itself. He recalled how Hossain went above and beyond to provide everything necessary for the production and for his personal needs during that time. Khan expressed deep gratitude for the extensive branding and promotional efforts the producer undertook to introduce him to audiences across remote areas of Bangladesh, describing the opportunity to work with such a mentor as a stroke of good fortune.
Reflecting on his professional philosophy, the actor stated that his primary focus during the early stages of his career was his passion for the craft rather than financial gain. His goal was to build a sustainable career and establish himself within the industry, prioritizing the quality of his work over his paycheck. Khan maintained that money was never his main motivation, a perspective that remains unchanged today as he continues to view the establishment of his professional brand as his most significant challenge.
