Pakistan batter Gull Feroza has been fined 10 percent of her match fee following a breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during her team’s Women’s Asia Cup match against Hong Kong in Dubai on Monday, September 7.
The Incident and Sanction
The 27-year-old was found guilty of violating Article 2.8, which pertains to showing dissent at an umpire’s decision. The incident occurred during the fifth over of Pakistan’s innings when Feroza gestured toward her bat to indicate an inside edge after being ruled lbw.
Demerit Points Accumulation
- Feroza received one demerit point for the offense.
- This marks her second demerit point within a 24-month period.
- Her previous demerit point was issued during the T20 World Cup in England in a match against Australia.
As Feroza admitted to the charge, no formal hearing was required.
