Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has stepped forward to assist thousands of families devastated by the recent catastrophic floods in Assam. Through his organization, Being Human, the actor has initiated a project to construct permanent housing for approximately 500 families who lost their homes during the disaster. This effort marks the second phase of his relief operations, shifting focus from immediate aid to long-term rehabilitation for the victims.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the relief plan prioritized rehabilitation from the very beginning. The project has already seen the completion of 220 semi-permanent homes in the worst-hit village of Nepali Khuti, which are currently being handed over to the affected residents. Each of these housing units costs between 35,000 and 40,000 rupees to construct. Salman Khan joined forces with the organization to finalize the joint decision to build a total of 500 homes for those in need.
Beyond his financial contributions, the actor has encouraged others to support the flood victims within their means. Emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility, Salman stated that it is our duty as human beings to help one another during times of crisis. His foundation previously provided food and essential supplies to the region, and this new housing initiative aims to provide stability to those displaced by the floods.
