During the trial, Haley recounted that Weinstein lunged at her and forcibly moved her into a bedroom where he assaulted her despite her pleas for him to stop. She recalled him asking if they were “much closer” following the incident, and later confronting him by stating, “You know you can’t keep doing this.” Reflecting on the impact of these events, Haley told the court that the assault has had a devastating, long-term effect on her sense of security, adding that the process of seeking accountability felt like a secondary trauma.
