United Arab Emirates batter Asif Khan has accepted a 15-month period of ineligibility following a positive test for a metabolite of mesterolone. The sanction, which stems from an out-of-competition test conducted on September 8, 2025, will remain in effect until December 7, 2026.
Since his international debut in 2022, Asif has featured for the UAE in 38 ODIs and 56 T20Is. He formally admitted to violating Article 2.1 of the ICC Anti-Doping Code and finalized the penalty through a Case Resolution Agreement involving the International Cricket Council and the World Anti-Doping Agency.
As part of the disciplinary measures, all of Asif’s individual results recorded between September 8, 2025, and the commencement of his provisional suspension on December 29, 2025, have been disqualified. This ruling mandates the forfeiture of all associated points, medals, prize money, and other accolades earned during that timeframe.
