Veteran Tollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has returned home to recover following a recent hand surgery. Shortly after his discharge, the actor, famously known for his role as ‘Fatakesto’, received news of a new professional venture. He is officially set to collaborate with the directorial duo of Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy.
Director Shiboprosad Mukherjee announced the partnership on social media, sharing a photograph with the legendary actor. Expressing his excitement, Mukherjee wrote, “Yes, finally we are working together. Nandita-di and I, along with Mithun Chakraborty.” He reflected on the personal significance of this project, stating that everyone harbors certain dreams, and working with Chakraborty had long been one of his own. Having grown up watching the actor in iconic films such as ‘Agneepath’, ‘Disco Dancer’, ‘Do Anjaane’, and ‘Dance Dance’, Mukherjee described the opportunity as the fulfillment of a lifelong aspiration.
Reflecting on the actor’s influence, Mukherjee noted that Chakraborty’s extraordinary contributions to Bengali cinema serve as a constant reminder that an actor transcends language and borders. Recalling the conversation, Mukherjee shared that the veteran actor had warmly replied, “Shibu! Why are you giving such a long introduction? I am here, let’s work!” Moved by the experience, Mukherjee remarked that some words have the power to touch dreams nurtured over many years. He added that the team is now waiting for the final preparations to begin, marking the moment when his long-held dream will finally become a reality.
