Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit has been selected to host the Marathi edition of the renowned quiz-based reality show, titled Kon Honaar Crorepati. This role marks the actress’s first association with the Kaun Banega Crorepati franchise as a host.
According to sources close to the production, the official promo introducing Dixit is scheduled to be unveiled during the August 10 premiere of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, which is hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. The promotional shoot for the Marathi series has already been completed.
Producers reportedly chose the actress for her significant popularity among Marathi audiences. As a Maharashtrian, Dixit maintains a strong emotional connection with viewers across the state and has frequently promoted Marathi culture throughout her career. Her previous work in the regional industry includes her 2018 Marathi film debut, Bucket List.
The network recently teased the announcement through a social media video featuring celebrities on an awards show red carpet. Stars such as Abhijeet Sawant, Bharat Jadhav, and Renuka Shahane were shown a placard revealing the host’s identity. While the name remained hidden from the camera, the celebrities reacted with excitement, mimicking Dixit’s famous “Dhak Dhak” dance move and her signature “Aaha!” expression from the film Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! to signal her identity to fans.
The Kon Honaar Crorepati series has previously been hosted by notable figures including Sachin Khedekar, Swapnil Joshi, and filmmaker Nagraj Manjule.
Beyond her mainstream film career, Dixit has served as a judge on several dance reality programs, including Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa from 2010 to 2022 and Dance Deewane, which she has judged since 2018. Her recent acting credits include the 2014 black comedy Dedh Ishqiya, the 2022 Netflix drama series The Fame Game, and high-grossing films such as the 2019 comedy Total Dhamaal and the 2024 release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
